2004-03-08 - ABB has been awarded a contract by EnCana (U.K.) Limited to supply Industrial IT control and safety systems for the Buzzard Field Development Project in the North Sea.
The Buzzard Project is the latest in a line of similar projects undertaken by ABB in the North Sea and is currently one of the larger offshore projects of its kind in the world. Buzzard is located some 50 km east of Peterhead in the North of Scotland.
Based on ABB’s Industrial IT platform, the scope of supply consists of an integrated process control, process shutdown, fire & gas and emergency shutdown system as well as support services. The project is scheduled for installation in the middle of 2004, with start-up in early 2005.
